Before I ever was, before you ever were, Jesus Christ was all of these things listed below. Amazingly, through the grace of God and the power of the Gospel, now all that Christ is has personal and immediate benefit to you. When our minds are affixed upon Him, we experience the deepest of peace and rest. Praise be to God for such an unspeakable gift.
- Christ is perfectly holy so I do not despair when I find that I am not
- Christ is unselfish in His love so I need not fear it is insufficient for me
- Christ is patient and compassionate so I need not despair over my struggle against sin
- Christ is omniscient and wise so it is unreasonable for me to be anxious as I follow Him
- Christ is relentlessly good so I can be assured that He is working deep in me each day that I awake
- Christ is committed and protective so there is no need for me to be afraid of my enemy
- Christ is all sufficient in His saving power so I need never dread the judgment
- Christ is merciful and abundant in power so I should not give in to the pressure to pretend to be strong when I know that I’m not
- Christ is sovereign and engaged so I can rest assured He is working powerfully when life is difficult
- Christ is the consummate forgiver so I need not be afraid of forgiving those who wrong me
- Christ has pledged to care for me so I can be content today with such things as I have
- Christ is coming again so I need not bow to the pressure to find my purpose in this temporary age
- Christ is welcoming and merciful so I will not hide from Him when I sin against Him
- Christ is royal and majestic so I will live with dignity and humility
- Christ is the Word of God so I need not feel compelled to have the last word with others
- Christ is the Lamb of God so I can refrain from pretending I’m a lion, the king of some mythical jungle
- Christ is the Savior so I can be a complete wreck and still have rest of soul
- Christ is Lord so I will not – I cannot – live unto myself
- Christ is my life so I will be at peace today, knowing that it is well with my soul
If you know Him, and would like to add a statement or two of your own about Him, please feel free to leave a reply below.

I love this list, but one thing I have come across, with all Jesus’s glory, He wants to be our go between. When I think of the relationship He brought us, it is amazing He didn’t listen to Jewish law, the Pharisee’s and those that put God in a box, of what He will, and will not do in our lives. We hear our words, in our prayers, “Almighty Father”…which is fine, but Jesus said we are of Him, so instead of the royal robe and crown treatment, God wants us to run to Him, and call Him, “Papa!”
The most intimate relationship we have, right now, with “Papa”, is in prayer. We have to remember where we, Adam and Eve, started. WITH GOD! Walking, talking, exploring, one on one! Close your eyes, see if you can picture this. Adam and Eve are still sleeping, and God can’t wait to share something with them. Finally, they wake up, and God say’s, I’ve got something I want to show you. You follow Him through the woods, all the while asking what is it. Finally you get to an open meadow, and God says, “Look up.” You do and you see a huge waterfall leading into a pond. The water is crystal clear, sweet in smell beyond anything you’ve ever smelt, and He says, “Adam, Eve, go take a dip!
Of course this connection was destroyed by satan…yet God still calls to us, waiting for us to wake up. To follow Him, in a one on one relationship in prayer and following the Bible, which is what He left us, to follow, to learn from, to enjoy the relationship we have establish, and find our connection to Him.
When ever I get discouraged, I take a long look at Simon Peter. This guy was a nut, and I can just feel Jesus smiling at some of the nutty things he did. I can also see he was full of misdirected energy, where Jesus would be one minute telling him, “Good job”…and within seconds rebuking him.
I love the fact the Bible shows just what a mess the Disciples were…and Jesus took the time to help them understand, much like a Papa teaches his little one to crawl, walk, talk and go to potty by himself.
We grow, in many ways, just like that…but it takes action on our part. To take a good look at ourselves in the mirror, and make the changes we have to make in our lives. To learn God’s WHOLE TRUTH, and not mans half-truth(what use to be called a lie). God wants us to come as we are, warts and all, and through His love, His instruction and our commitment to follow and pray to Him, God, “Papa”, will make Himself known more in our lives, in the good times…and in the bad ones. God Bless.
He is all in all!
Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the the Life, there no other!
This is one of the times I feel most inadequate. How to follow a list like this?
Christ is my Lord and Master. That is what I represent.
