There are days when my morning alarm goes off and I awake to some fairly intense mental warfare. I am somewhat clueless about how the enemy affects this kind of attack but I’ve experienced it enough to know that it is not imaginary. I’ve learned that the way to victory in those moments is to utilize the Word of God as my Savior did when Satan battled Him in the wilderness. Today I found the need to do so and I want to leave you some unstructured, brief thoughts that may serve to fortify you in your own times of personal struggle. Here’s what God gave me this morning:
Isaiah 43:3
“For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” – This is a very simple reminder that the vast God of all the universe has made Himself so accessible as to say to little ol’ me, “Jeff, I am YOUR God & YOUR Savior.” Satan being my enemy is a truth; God being my Protector is a more enduring truth.
Isaiah 43:11
“I am the Lord, and besides Me there is no Savior.” – It might seem so elementary that it need not be said by God. God…the only Savior…well, of course. Yet when flashes of doubts about anything assail us…when fears of the future and pains of the present find us…it is so reassuring to hear the simple reminder that we have been graciously sought out by the only true God and that we have received the sole means of rescue and hope in Jesus Christ. There was only one Answer, one Way and one Salvation…and we have been given eternal access to Him.
Isaiah 43:15
“I am the Lord, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.” – I treasure the concept of the royalty of Christ. I am deeply attracted to the clear presentation in Scripture of us being the royal subjects to an everlasting throne. My King will take care of me. My King will never be defeated. The walls of His city are secure and He is the valiant and majestic governor of my soul. He laughs at his enemies, those lesser kings, and in His eyes there is unwavering promise. In Christ my King, I find the deepest of peace.
Isaiah 43:25
“I am He who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.” – I can barely speak of this awesome verse. In Him, we have been made spotless. That’s not a vague illustration but, rather, an indomitable truth. All of my vile history can never be recalled against me by God. Satan’s accusations cannot stay upon me. My guilty, sad conscience will not have the last word. Who is so strong as to make remember my sins the God who has chosen to forget them?
Isaiah 44:6
“I am the first and I am the last; besides Me there is no god.” – God is my Father. As the First, He ordained my origin. As the Last He ordained my outcome. Besides Him there is nothing…nothing…nothing. Yes, friends, your God has it all in perfect containment. We do not need to tremble, worry, vacillate or live in perplexity. God still echoes His Son’s words from Calvary, “It is finished!”
I think today can be one of victory. That’s good news.
Thanks once again my bro. Blessings.
