Amy’s 73 year-old Aunt Jeanette said it well a few minutes ago. Standing in a pile of wet towels heaped upon my kitchen hardwoods that sweet lady declared,
“When it comes, it comes in bunches, doesn’t it, Jeff?”
She was referring to the mess we awoke to see this morning. Apparently, the ice maker water line gave up the ghost sometime in the night and our refrigerator commenced to relieving itself all over the kitchen floor and into the basement for a couple of hours. I’m trying to look at the bright side of things and recognize that a) it wasn’t some massive pipe burst under the floor b) it is small potatoes compared to Amy’s wreck and c) it had been a few days since I spoke with the really nice people in my insurance company’s claim department so I now look forward to speaking with them about something new today.
I’m not sure if the trials in my and Amy’s life qualify for the quote below but it sure helps me keep my head about me.
“You must submit to supreme suffering in order to discover the completion of joy.” – John Calvin
Just back from vacation, I’m reading the blogs backwardwards! Even in trials, God is so good, isn’t He? I got home Sunday night, after living out of a suitcase for 12 days. On Monday, my water heater burst and since then I’ve been living out of a suitcase again at my daughter’s house (I do love hot showers). John and Kim Cauble graciously and quickly installed a new water heater last night and tonight I am finally home again! I’ve just been praising God all week that my water heater broke Monday and not July 21st – the day after I left on vacation. Can you imagine what my water bill would have been? He’s so good to me and I’m so grateful for small blessings as well as big ones from my precious Father.
You know, show how the long email I posted in response to all your events taking place in your life..and my urgent need to help more than prayer and meals, didn’t get posted. I read your blog this am before coming back to this and I knew for sure you must be referring to my unposted post. What a great revelation to realize it was our Father speaking through you to me in your blog my own personal ripple. Amazing…..I love you Lord.. Gail
Psalm 71:20
You who have shown me great and severe troubles, shall revive me again. And bring me up again from the depths of the earth. You shall increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.
God be with you.

Oh my!! Some days, most days it may seem as you feel completely overwhelmed by various obstacles in your life. Catagorizing and making the choice to look at them from different angles does help put a different perspective on them. At least try to make yummy lemonade out of your bag of lemons today…
Praying for you all!
