I woke up this morning with plenty of food to eat …most of the world did not
I woke up this morning in a comfortable bed…most of the world did not
I woke up this morning in a happy home with a beautiful family in reasonably good health…most of the world did not
I woke up this morning in a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ…most of the world did not
I woke up this morning with money in my pocket and in my bank…most of the world did not
I woke up this morning with a clear purpose for my life…most of the world did not
I woke up this morning with an absolute assurance of where I’m going when I die…most of the world did not
I woke up this morning with friends and several people upon whom I can rely…most of the world did not
I woke up this morning with a copy of God’s Word at my fingertips in my own language…most of the world did not
I woke up this morning very content and pleased with the life God has given me…most of the world did not
I woke up this morning with all that I mentioned above… and found myself complaining about trivial things in about fifteen minutes.
If the people who do not have all that I have
had the chance to swap places with me,
would they complain? Most of the world would not
“Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.” – Philippians 2:14-15 {ESV}
Unless of course you are one of the have-nots in America and else where in the World
that believe that government is your Big Daddy.
But people better wake up smell the coffee, Big Daddy is running out of money.
The Church is a ‘Safety-Net’ for alot of folks Christian or non Christian.
Certianly in this day and age in America and in Georgia
the Church should be finding pathways to minister to these folks.
The door is wide open for testimony of Jesus Christ.
Christ’s own words, if you done it to the least of these you done it on to me.
Matt 25:31-46
41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
We certainly do not spend enough time being thankful for everything the Lord has given us. There is always shock if a child doesn’t react “properly” when something is done for him, or when he’s given a gift and doesn’t appear thankful enough. We call that child “spoiled.” Sadly, adults have a tendency to behave exactly the same way. This is an excellent reminder, Pastor. Thank you!
