9/11 changed the American landscape ten years ago. 9/11 is when we decidedly acknowledged our vulnerability. 9/11 reminds us that our nation is not immune from the evil of very wicked men. We can no longer have pride without discernment. Presumption that God would keep us insulated from our enemies crashed to the ground with toppled buildings and hijacked planes. Was it judgment or some warning from Heaven’s throne? I do not know but, if it was, we certainly could not say that it was unjust. When I think of 9/11 I think of my own need to draw closer to God who is my rock of defense, my refuge, my hiding place, my shield and my high tower. Apart from His offer of security through Christ there is no enduring safety. I run to my King.
