There are moments in our lives when we know that, should we speak, we would appear less wise than if we simply remain silent. Each week, I live and die by my words and this morning I was tempted to leave you a blank-blog because I sensed the fruit basket of my heart to be vacant of anything nutritional. No apples or oranges, grapes or bananas – the basket held a couple of half-eaten twinkies and I was fairly confident that you would not want to eat those. I had a few things that I was silently ranting to myself about and considered if they might be worthy topics to write about today. Then I realized that I’ve been ranting a little too much lately and decided to be engaged in something a little more edifying to you. That was the moment when I noticed that the inner-fruit basket was empty and I made the choice to leave you both a verse and an opportunity as the fullness of today’s blog entry. Here’s the verse:

I’ve given you the verse now let me give you the opportunity:

Is there some controversy or issue out there that you feel so strongly about that you know you may easily slip into regrettable commentary should you choose to speak at length? Let us hear – BRIEFLY – from you. Be careful to turn the faucet off before the flood.
Proverbs 10:19 “When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.”

when I get asked my opinion, on just about anything. I should say “You can’t handle the truth” but usally my tongue bust through the double doors of my mouth and starts flappin. digging deeper and deeper until it caves in all around me.
When people say, “It’s all good.
A sign on my desk says “Dear Lord…Please put your arm around my shoulder and you hand ovrer my mouth!
Two words: former job. Oops! That’s 4 words and now it’s up to 13.
