Perhaps one of the most tragic things to occur in the life of a Christian would be for that individual to live a listless, unmotivated life. I perceive that it is a common thing for those who have never bowed their hearts to Jesus Christ to passionately pursue what motivates them. Non-Christians are often much more zealous about life than we are – whether it be fame or money or sex or power…unbelievers chase their personal gods with vigor. I’ve noticed that many Christians seem to lose their intensity over the years and life no longer has any punch for them. Days can be spent in the rut of the mundane, bland and room-temperatured while they look to the sky and wonder halfheartedly if the Lord will return soon. It seems to me that there is a deflation of passion in many of our lives and I do not believe that God ever intended it to be this way. Remember what Paul wrote to the Colossians in chapter three of his letter to them:
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” – Col.3:23 {KJV}
Can it be said of your life that there is an essence of wholeheartedness? Notice that this isn’t reserved for what we typically consider to be spiritual activities (studying Scripture, teaching, singing, sharing our faith, etc.). The King James translators chose the word “whatsoever” in submitting that whatever you are doing should be accomplished with passion. Why? Because all that proceeds from your life is to be performed as unto the Lord. Could this command in our Bible be accomplished in the absence of passion, zeal, sold-out commitment or excellence? Of course not. Yet honesty compels us to admit that we don’t always approach life in this fashion.
On this middle of the week’s hump, let us commit that we will not live dispirited lives. Let us approach our duties with delight as we submit the day unto the care of our Lord. Whether you are cleaning the house or brokering a major business opportunity, purpose in your mind that it will be done as unto the Lord. This means no complaining, no avoiding the hard work, no refusal to submit to the plan that God is executing in your life. Laughter and confidence should flavor your day more so than fatalism and doubt. If you are going to season the next 24 hours, choose paprika, not low-sodium salt substitutes. Choose a robust attitude for yourself as you know that nobody can choose it for you. Decide to welcome the Lord to provide insight, motivation and fullness of Spirit to you so that you may obey the command of Colossians 3:23. He’s more than willing to provide the fuel for you, uncap your tank by engaging your will to believe that you were not destined for an ongoing shrugging at life. The opportunity and accountability are ours…choose not to waste this day.

I’ll take that twitter dare! I find as I progress in my Christian walk I want to serve more and to bless more. That is one reason I am so happy to be the co-ordinator of the Prayer Request Line. I bow before the Lord in pleas and lo and behold as I finish my requests for others,
I find that my heart is lighter and I am more than ever contented and enthusiastic in my Lord.
Praise His Holy Name!!!!!!!
To be a Proverbs 31 woman. To have my husband and my child speak of me in the way that they spoke of this woman in Proverbs. I also have a passion for TRUTH, it’s not very popular in our day that we live. I can’t stand for grey, candy-coated blah… it just makes me sick!
To share the gospel with as many as the spirit allows. To let those who are without hope to see a glimpse of the awesome God that we truely serve. This is my desire and my passion.
Psalm 37:4 -“Delight thyself also in the Lord: and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart”…
For many years I have been passionate about helping people find work … I had been out of work a couple of times myself and God Blessed me with a position at a wonderful company(for almost 8 years now). I am so grateful and I wanted to give back. So I began to help anyone who came to me to find work. It became a desire of my heart to have a job fair – Thursday August 11 that will become a reality. True to his word – he is – Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow !!!!!
