God reserves the right to initiate changes throughout our lifetimes. Nobody’s life remains the same forever. For those who are following Jesus, there is the consistent component of change. Because Jesus does not stand still but, instead, moves forward as He leads His sheep, those who follow Him experience seasons wherein He takes us in directions that we could not have foreseen. I am experiencing one of those seasons right now in life and ministry.
After twenty-seven years as a part of the family (formerly called Meadow Church), God is moving me into a new place of ministry. This weekend, it was publicly announced that I have received and accepted the call to become the Lead Pastor of The Church at Winder. Amy and I are excited to begin this new chapter of leading and serving God’s people, and we spent the better part of a year processing what the Lord was doing in our hearts and lives as He prepared us for this eventual move. We will remain in deep relationship with the leaders and people of and we love them dearly. My co-leaders there remain the best of my friends and there is nothing amiss in our ongoing friendships and Kingdom partnerships. It is, simply put, the leadership of the Lord that has given me the privilege of shifting my focus, gifts and efforts to the Winder/Bethelhem area to begin afresh among a spiritually hungry, unified and well-prepared group of believers with whom we have entered into covenant to worship and serve our King together. God has made The Church at Winder our new home, and the people there will become our primary spiritual family. While we will deeply miss our days among the people of New Bridge, we are thrilled to begin anew in this upcoming seasons. When God initiates moves that changes a nearly-three-decade course of ministry, there is a holy and meaningful reason behind it. The adventure will be ours to progressively discover that beautiful reason from Heaven.
For our Transforming Truth family and supporters: TT will continue uninterrupted! Making the move with us is the ministry of Transforming Truth which will continue to stream my messages on television and digital media. Our mission works overseas will continue. The new Mavericks & Misfits podcast will also continue uninterrupted. There will be a short season where we may have to film some of our Sunday TV broadcasts in my studio at my home, but we will work quickly to prepare the sanctuary in the Church at Winder to become the new place from which we will broadcast our media ministry. Our Technical Producer, Joshua Frost, is coming with us to The Church at Winder and he will work with me diligently to ensure that we do not miss a beat. We are eager to experience all that God has prepared for us, and we welcome your ongoing prayers and support.
Below is a short video that summarizes what is written here and shares a few more details. If you live anywhere in Winder, Auburn, Monroe, Bethlehem or Dacula – join us at The Church at Winder beginning Sunday March 7th.
Blessings to each of you!
