It’s Sunday, Fathers Day, and I’ve rarely been more aware of the goodness of my Father who has tended to us precisely over the last few days. He has answered our cries for strength and stability for Amy and has provided incredible grace for us and in us as the reports on Deborah continue to remain grave. Amy is sensing the pain on a heightened level today and all the various injuries seem to be merging together, bringing her much discomfort. The kindness of our friends who have sent word via the blog and Twitter has been amazing. I know many of you would be here by our sides if we could permit it but please know that we sense deeply your concern and love even while unable to be next to us. We both miss our children deeply but are thankful for the care being given them in our absence. They are doing well, considering the circumstances.
There is little to update as far as change in Amy and Deborah. If you have just become aware of what has happened, you can read the previous couple of blog posts and it will bring you up to speed. The road appears very long to us but I can clearly discern the silhouette of our Shepherd as He walks ahead of us, preparing the way. Ludie Picket wrote it well in 1897 in the old hymn “No, Never Alone”
“I’ve seen the lightning flashing,
And heard the thunder roll,
I’ve felt sin’s breakers dashing,
Trying to conquer my soul;
I’ve heard the voice of my Savior,
Telling me still to fight on,
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone.
Refrain:
No, never alone,
No, never alone,
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone.”
Jeff, I have never been much of a “blogger” but I’m learning. We have left voice mail and reg. emails for you and Amy. Our hearts go out to both of you. Needless to say you have been in our prayers; we have added you to a couple of other church prayer lists also. Whenever you feel you are up to it, please come and have a meal with us. We love you and Amy very much and are quite anxious to do whatever we can to help.
Dear Jeff and Amy,
You continue to be in our prayers. I think about you both (all 4, really) a lot and I pray. Thank you for letting me have a part in your lives – and you all in ours. You are greatly loved.
Bro. Jeff & Mrs. Amy,
We certainly missed you today, but want you to know that, as always, Meadow was full of people eager to celebrate Jesus this morning. While our hearts are heavy as we join you in prayer for your family, we also rejoice with you in the saving work that Christ has done in so many of our lives. Thank you and your family for the wonderful example you are to us, even during difficult times. We look forward to helping in any way needed.
Much love in Christ,
Walker & Katie.
Pastor,
I’m so sorry to hear about Amy and her mother’s unfortunate incident. Will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers. Praying for peace and miraculous healing.
Jeff and Amy,
You are constantly in our prayer and thoughts. May God continue to sustain you, heal, provide His precious peace and comfort, and guide each decision. We love you and are here for you in any way you need. We love you very much.
Pastor,
I am so encouraged to hear how well Amy is doing. She is such a special woman. I wanted to say happy father’s day to you. Stay strong. God is right there for you to lean on. When the time is right, we will all be here waiting to help. Love y’all!! Que Dios te bendiga!!
Pastor, you taught me many many years ago the meaning of Mark 9:24 when the father of the ill son seeking healing from Jesus exclaimed…”Lord, I believe..help my unbelief…”. It meant, Lord, I believe you CAN heal my son…help me believe you WILL heal my son. I have never forgotton your teaching on that verse….and it is very appropiate now in all our hearts. The Lord IS on His throne..His will be done..” Amen and Amen
Pastor and Amy,
We are praying for you and your children, Mrs. Samples and her family, and for the other people involved in the accident. God is good and will provide all you need.
If there is anything at all I can do just let me know.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
His merices are new every morning and they fail not.
He will never leave you alone.
Love you all.
Mary Lewis

Dear Jeff & Amy,
You continue to be in our prayers and have been frequently since we received the news of the accident late Thursday night. We prayed for you with our church family here in Vancouver this morning. Please know that prayers are going up from all over the country for all of you. We are praying for God to show amazing grace, strength, and comfort, May God give you a clear sense of His peace during this time of trial. (De 33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms:) Praying that you will know the rest of His everlasting arms.
Pastor Jeff,
Thank you so much for keeping us all posted on Amy’s condition as well as her mother’s. We love y’all and are praying without ceasing for all of you. Please give my love to Amy. Words cannot even describe what she means to me and how God has used her to teach me in the eight years that we’ve been friends. She is one very special lady! Like mother, like daughter.
Sun 6/19/11 Prayers, thoughts and love to Pastor Jeff and familes. Circumstances like these are what puts life into clearer perspective. Reminds us of an ‘old’ hymn: Jesus will walk with me down thro’ the valley, Jesus will walk with me over the plain, When in the shadow or when in the sunshine, If He goes with me I shall not complain. Jesus will walk with me He will talk with me, In joy or in sorrow today and tomorrow, I know He will walk with me.
This is your ‘footprints in the sand’ moment. Our gentle Shepherd will carry you thru this time.
jeff, as im shure everyone is doing their best in their own ways. I just wanted to say and tell all, For God so loved the world, He gave his only son, That whosoever belives in HIM shall have everlasting life,, FOREVER!!! Amen.
We’re (Delaina and I) have been pouring our prayers out for you, Amy, Deb, Father Samples, and the entire family. We have been praying for the other and their families.
God bless us all. life is soo sweet and short, But its for HIM we live, NOT OURSELVES.
We love you and your family, and can only pray for Gods will in this situation.
May his name rise above all!! In Jesus’ name we pray for all involved, Amen
Pastor,
We have been praying for you all ever since we heard. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do.
We are continuing to pray for you all constantly. We love you and know the Lord is in control. Please let us know if there is anything at all we can do to help. We will remain strong as a church, and we know the Lord is with you and carrying you each step of the way.
Jeff, we just found out this morning at church and are praying for Amy’s mother, Amy and your whole family. I know that the Lord is standing with you and that He will see you through. He is our strength and he will carry us through the valley’s of life. We trust Him always.
Let the peace of our Savior fill you and your family at this time of trial. We are praying day and night for Amy and her mom. Our hope is greater than the circumstances and the Lord is greater than it all. We love you and will continue to remember you in prayer even after all is well.
God bless you.
I just wanted you to know I missed you both today. Jeff, you have been such a good shepherd to our flock – we can abide in Him as you are exactly where you need to be – by Amy’s side. I am continuing to pray for all of you – Jeff, that your strength will stay strong (there’s nothing more tiring than being in the hispital and not the patient); Amy, that your pain will lessen and you will be more comfortable so you can get the rest and healing you need; Alicia and Landon, that their little minds will be at peace during this confusing time; and for Amy’s mom, am just praying the Lord’s will for her life. I am also lifting up Amy’s Dad as he must be so torn having his wife and daughter in different hospitals. I send all of you my love, prayers and best wishes. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. I’m willing and able. God is good and in control – over the good and the not so good. Jeff, you’ve taught us that. Thank you. Looking forward to seeing you both soon.
I will be praying for ya

We are here for you no matter what the need – please do not hesitate calling us any time day or night. I’m praying specifically that you and Amy will experience God’s peace, comfort, healing, and assurance in ways that you never have before.

Just wanted you and Amy to know how deeply we feel your pain. You’re correct, the pathway will be very long and difficult but praise be to our God, He will be there every step of the way. Please give Amy a kiss from me and a hug for you. Wish I could be there to deliver them myself but it isn’t us that you need, it’s God’s strengh and peace which I know you are feeling. We are praying for you constantly as well as for Amy’s Mom. God’s will be done. We love you both very much. Shirley
“Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24 “God is a Specialist at making something useful and beautiful out of something broken and confused.” Lifting all of you up to the great physician. Give Amy my love. Here for the long haul.
