15 Years Later: Our Enemy Does Not Sleep

Today I take a moment to remind us that there is certainly such a thing as evil.  We would do well to also acknowledge that evil resides within people – people who are alive today.  Further still, we in America must acknowledge that some of these evil people have committed their lives unto the death for our own destruction.  We call them terrorists.  They are not Irish or Romanian or Chinese.  These terrorists are not Buddhists or Catholics or Jews or Christians.  I’m not referring to agnostics, atheists or new age mystics.  The particular evil men I am writing of are Muslim fundamentalists, and their agenda is the death of America and the comprehensive subjection of Western culture to Sharia Law.  Fifteen years ago today, some of these deceived but tenaciously driven terrorists struck successfully at the heart of America.  They got our attention that day, and we have not been the same since.  I want to remind you that they have not really yet begun to execute their full intentions.  This is not going away.  Left unchecked, and in the absence of fierce resistance by committed national defense… it is possible that Islam could actually become enthroned in America while we keep our heads in the sand and hope that these presumed peace-loving pupils of Mohammed will come to the table to reason with us.  Oh, they will come to the table all right – seated with their beheading blades in their hands while they tell us the same lies they have been sharing all along.  Do you think I’m being dramatic? Sensational? Bigoted? An alarmist?  Well, the families of the 9/11 victims might disagree with you.   The victims of the five Isis-inspired attacks in the last twelve months here on the U.S. mainland would liikely agree with me. It’s too bad that they cannot speak anymore because they were killed by Muslim terrorists. By the way, even Osama Bin Laden himself would agree with what I am writing about the intent of Islam and Sharia Law… but Bin Laden is unable to communicate today from his personalized, heated habitat in hell.  Make no mistake, friend, it’s all or nothing for 21st Century Islam.  They know it, and they laugh at us, as we continue to pretend it isn’t so.  It’s the average American who has the trouble admitting this very frightening reality. It would seem that much of our Federal government still believes we can bring a teleprompter to a knife fight and win against these killers. God inspired his prophet, Habakkuk, to describe Israel’s enemies many centuries ago. How politically incorrect his words are. How insensitive.  But how accurate they proved.

“They are dreaded and fearsome…more fierce than the evening wolves; their horsemen press proudly on.  Their horsemen come from afar; they fly like an eagle swift to devour. They all come for violence, all their faces forward. They gather captives like sand.  At kings they scoff, and at rulers they laugh…” – Habakkuk 1:7-10

Sharia is an Arabic term referring to a legal framework to regulate public and private aspects of life based upon specific Islamic teachings – and there is no room for negotiation. Under Muslim Sharia law, the clothes you wear, the music you listen to, and the television you watch would all be censored. Every single social freedom we currently enjoy (and take for granted) would become exterminated.  Behavior in public would be legally restricted and controlled by an unrelenting code founded in the Koran.  All non-Muslim forms of thought and religious expression would be strangled and buried.  Sharia Law is the lone social agenda for those who propagate true Islam.   Sharia is an intolerant system that today threatens the Western ideals of “liberty and justice for all”.  Sharia views non-Muslims as second class citizens, sanctions inequality between men and women, prescribes cruel and unusual punishments for crimes, and promotes a restrictive business environment that strangles the freedoms of capitalism.  Mark my words: they aren’t open to negotiation, and will only continue to persist toward absolute domination. The Sharia debate in the U.S. has heated up as more and more Americans are reacting to lawyers requesting rulings based on sharia law, and local judges agreeing to make them.  This has happened in a New Jersey divorce case, a Maryland child custody case, and more recently in a Florida property case.  These cases are now a precedent for other American-Muslim communities where Muslims are preying upon our debilitating love-affair with political correctness, and daring us to question their religious beliefs.  According to the Center for Security Policy study that was published in 2011, there have been over fifty Appellate Court cases from 23 states that all involve conflicts between Sharia Law and American states’ laws.  Radical Islam is the Quranic Islam, any other presentation of Islam necessitates a departure from what the Koran teaches. These militant terrorists are not merely misguided or intolerant: they are evil, and they are planning on eventually coming to a neighborhood near you.

I wanted to write something patriotic today and share my gratitude for our military men and women on this anniversary of 9/11.  I’ll save that for another morning when I am not sensing such intensity regarding our national welfare.  I believe that our current President has been far too passive about the rise of Islam, and clearly, America’s standing in the world has weakened in the last eight years.  Our insatiable commitment to political correctness has ripped the very guts out of this Republic, and we will reap what we sow if things don’t change.  In one sense, the terrorists have won because America is no longer certain about striking back at our enemies, leaving no question concerning our reduced commitment to our national sovereignty and security.  We now ask permission to defend ourselves and our international interests.  We consult and dialogue and survey the international scene to find out if our reputation might be damaged if we simply started slinging lead at our enemies.  I have sat across the table from soldiers and Marines who were on the front lines of our current wars, and they each said the same thing, independently of one another: If Washington DC would allow the military brass to lead the fight in these wars, without them being hogtied by political considerations, then America could conquer our enemies and the world could return to some semblance of peace. These military men whom I spoke with are men who have been there and paid the price.  They have been shot at, shot through and seen their friends die in their arms. You and me? We have watched the war on television and read of it on the Internet.  I think we should listen to the warriors who have been there and sacrificed, and not so much to men and women in designer suits on Capitol Hill who often appear clueless and unwise.

Evil will not leave us until the King of Righteousness returns to reign.  And He is going to return someday. My guess is that He will come much sooner than most expect. King Jesus will have the final say, no doubt.  I am very hopeful about this event on the prophetic horizon, and it is my sole motivation for life and mission. Yet I am raising children in a world that will look far different than the world in which I, my father and grandfather were born into.  Things are dramatically changing, and I’m becoming increasingly convinced that the next few months will have a great impact on the remainder of America’s story. Please don’t think me misguided: my ultimate hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ, friends.  Having declared that, however, I want to state without hesitation that Islam is moving rapidly on an evil trajectory, and if we keep extending our hand to them to shake it…they will soon cut it off.

Like a shepherd boy in Israel who would eventually become a great Jewish King said about 3,000 years ago, “Is there not a cause?”

The answer is yes and I’m concerned that, to our own demise, we may have forgotten it.
